Mike Seeger was one of the founding members of the legendary Folk and old-time music trio the New Lost City Ramblers. The group's importance to the folk revival of the late 1950's and 1960's cannot be underestimated. What they played proved that it was possible for younger musicians to recreate music heard originally on the scratchy old pre-WW2 78-rpm records.
