Modeste, a talented guitar player from Betroka (East), and Kilema, a versatile instrumentalist from Toliara (West), come together to play and sing catchy melodies celebrating our Green World. Recorded at a distance, the two musicians embark on a musical journey with the aim to spread the message of saving their much-loved home country of Madagascar. Modeste Huguesis an award-winning singer songwriter and guitarist from Madagascar whose music is a unique blend of traditional Malagasy sounds. He creates beautiful melodies and rhythms with hypnotic guitar playing and vocals and is known for his incredible live performances. He has been featured on numerous live BBC sessions, performed at The Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, London Jazz Festival, WOMAD, Brighton Festival and more. Kilema is the undisputed cultural ambassador of his homeland Toliara, South Madagascar, with over 30 years of professional experience. Kilema is a charismatic singer-songwriter and master of Malagasy instruments such as the marovany and valiha zithers, and the kabosy (Madagascan guitar). He enjoys collaborating with many artists from different backgrounds and traveling the world in his search for new musical direction.
