Digitally remastered release containing French composer and pianist Michel Legrand's album Legrand Jazz in it's entirety, this was his first recorded collaboration with Miles Davis. As a bonus, the trumpeter's complete soundtrack for the film Ascenseur pour l'echafaud. Michel Legrand's 1958 album titled Legrand Jazz compiled three June 1958, New York sessions featuring many of the finest jazz musicians in the history of the genre. The album marked the French composer, pianist and arranger's first commercial LP dedicated exclusively to jazz. Although he wouldn't play piano here, Legrand chose all of the tunes, provided all of the album's arrangements and conducted throughout the three sessions. Also featuring John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Donald Byrd, Art Farmer, Ben Webster, Hank Jones & Paul Chambers, among others.
