Grand Corps Malade means "Great Ill Body" in French. Fabien, a young artist from Saint-Denis, France chose this pseudonym due to his injured right leg which causes him to limp. He is not a rapper, but rather a "slameur" (as the French call it). Slam (which originated in the US) is spoken word/poetry and each slammer is to create a pseudonym for him/herself, as did Fabien. He debuts with the album "Midi 20" and has been a great success in his native France. The hit single "Les voyages en train," (included in this album) remained on top ten singles charts in France for several weeks.
