Who is Lou Koster, this first female composer in Luxembourg music history? Well-known in her own country, she has also begun to find international recognition, which this release can only help. When renowned tenor Vincent Lièvre-Picard and pianist Emmanuel Olivier first listened to her French songs, they were immediately charmed, and thus excited to produce a premiere recording of these compositions. A concert pianist and teacher at the conservatory of Luxembourg, Koster's first compositions were Frenchsongs. In addition, her oeuvre includes choir music, a series of pieces for piano or orchestra, stage works, and the operetta An der Schwemm ("At the baths").
